Inviting comments/suggestions on the Fuel Audit Report of

PSPCL’s Thermal Generating Stations

 

1. The Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (Commission) in its Conduct of Business Regulations, 2005 has approved for the Fuel Cost Adjustment on account of change in fuel cost for PSPCL’s Thermal Stations and Central Generating Stations which are due to reasons beyond the control of the utility.

2. In order to check more precisely the methodology regarding computation of fuel cost being passed on to the consumers as an uncontrollable element, the Commission got carried out the Fuel Audit of all the thermal plants of PSPCL from CPRI, Bangalore.

3. As per the Fuel Audit Report submitted by CPRI, substantial savings can be achieved by making nominal investments in various activities at the thermal plants. The detailed report submitted by CPRI is available on the website of the Commission, ‘www.pserc.nic.in’ which can be downloaded therefrom. Comments/suggestions of the stakeholders, if any, together with supporting material are invited on the report so as to reach the office of the Secretary, PSERC by Sept. 14, 2012.

4. The Commission, after considering the written comments/suggestions received, if any, in response to this notice, may hold a public hearing on the date which will be notified by the Commission in due course.
